UGHHHHHH!!!!!

Well, Emily may be doing just fine in school, but home is another thing! She just wants to argue and sas and I'm at the end of my rope with her! We found out Tuesday that she has a SS project due on Monday, Sept 26. I told her we would do this weekend - to bring the info sheet home on Friday. Next weekend is the Okra Strut so I want it out of the way so we can go.

So, I just talked to her. She just got home from school. Did she bring her SS sheet home! Hell no! UGH!! I know what the project is - so I've told her to start a list! (Top 10 things that have happened in her life.)

Then I remembered Chasity is coming tomorrow. So, I called her back and told her to go clean her bathroom, bedroom and change the sheets on her bed. Whine, whine!

Last night was even worse! Sassy mouth!

At least she brought home all As on her interims!!! But gosh she is getting so sassy!

Long time, no post!

We'll I haven't done a very good job at keeping this thing up. Maybe I'll try again.

The kids are doing great. Emily has terrific with a capital T teachers this year. I love them! And Emily loves them! She really seems to enjoy school again! Thank God for that! Last year was awful for her - for all of us but thankfully we've put it behind us and moved on.

Emily is in AGP math this year. Suppose to be more challenging. Her grades have been great, so far. A averages in all classes so far.

She's walking to school and she loves that! And she's walked home some days. She is going to Safari on an as-needed-basis. Trying to save some money. She is also taking gymnastics on Monday nights. Well, really, it's tumbling but she loves it.

J.R. is still a little ham. He has finally started showing some interest in learning his numbers and letters. I'm not pushing him - if he doesn't get it now, he'll get it next year in kindergarden. He still like to punch things - trying to put a stop to that, but it hasn't been easy.

My dad wants to put him in karate but I'm so not ready for that. He is so little for his age. He will start t-ball in the spring. I think he'll be good at baseball. Looks like Emily is giving up softball.

Tim is in Augusta this week. Do to the cost of gas ($3 + per gall0n) and the early start time he is staying there all week. We'll see him on Friday - my day off!!

The kids start choir practice tonight. This is Emily's 6th year in it and J.R.'s 2nd. They both seem to enjoy it. Emily should get some bigger parts in the plays since she is older now.

We went to the beach for 6 days this summer. First time we've done that. Usually, it just been a weekend trip. We went the last week of July. It was the hottest week of the summer. 100 degree plus days and heat index was 110+. We stayed at the hotel a lot and used the pools. The kids had a ball. Chasity went with us, too. We did go to see "One" at the Alabama Theatre and it was great. J.R. didn't care to much for it and was ill by the end. He finally went to sleep on me during the FINALE! We also went to see "Herbie" at the movies. The theatre was nice and cool!

I guess I've caught up with the important stuff. So I sumed the last few months up into just a few paragraphs. Not sure if that is good or not - but that's us.

Emily

Emily has been questioning me for almost a year over the easter bunny, santa and the toothfairy. I had kept giving her the same response - "What do you think?" If you stop believeing "they" stop coming.

Well, Saturday night she went to an Easter egg hunt through our church but held at someone's house. They had to bring flashlights. They got to get 5 eggs before it got dark. Each egg had a numbered paper in it that coorelated to a prize. Then they got to go back out and get up to 5 more - in the dark, in the woods. They gave them 10 minutes - she only got 1 egg. She got so upset. Most of the kids didn't get but 1 or 2. But she was still upset.Anyway, when they started to wrap up, the leader said "Let's have a word of prayer." And Emily shouted out, "No!" The lady just looked at her - Emily started to cry and we went on with our prayer. I was so embarrassed! I know it wasn't about the prayer - just that she wanted to get more eggs. But I still wanted to hide under a rock.

So, on the way home I was lecturing her and mentioned the Easter Bunny would be disappointed and might not bring her much. She said there isn't an easter bunny and guess what came out of my mouth:

"You're exactly right! There is no Easter Bunny, No Santa, No tooth fairy, nothing!"She said, she knew it was me and dh. Then I told her she should think of how much money we had spent on her over the years.I was so upset - at her - at me - at the easter egg hunt! I know she has suspected it for a while now - but now she knows and it is all my fault! I feel like I lost my "little girl" Saturday night and there isn't anything I can do to take it back.

The above was copied over from the moms over 30 board...

Here is what happened last night along that subject.....

Emily had to go to the dentist for what I thought was a cracked tooth, yesterday. It wasn't cracked. It was a baby tooth. The permanent tooth was coming in around it - what I was seeing was the top/side of the permanent tooth. The dentist pulled the baby tooth for her.

On the way home from her ballgame she asked me if the tooth fairy would find her tooth if she put it somewhere else. I told her she should put it under her pillow - not to make the tooth fairy look for it, which she did.

I can't figure out if she doesn't believe what I told her - or if she is just playing along or what. She was excited about her $5 this morning. She wanted to take it to school which I put a halt to.

Another Monday

I really hate Monday! I have been awake since 4 b/c dh kept hitting his snooze and snored inbetween each snooze. I am tired! Went to a german place for lunch - it was delicious!

Emily has a cracked tooth. Or at least that it what it looks like to me. Mom is taking her to the dentist for me at 2. Emily has a game at 6:15 tonight. Looks like J.R. will be eating a hot dog at the ballgame for dinner - he'll be happy!

Oh happy day!

Not only is today Friday which means I am off tomorrow and Sunday but my boss just informed me that I am getting a raise! Now those are very hard to come by in state gov. so I must be really special. It is a 5% raise - a merit increase, which will be followed on July 1 with a 4% COLA for everyone. Or at least it looks like the legislature is going to pass the 4%.

I was very excited about that until I remembered our house payment is going up $120 next month, so of my raise, I might see $1 of it! Oh well - at least it covers all of the increase on the house payment. Dumb asses underestimated our taxes when we bought the new house. Instead of $1500 it was $2300. UGH!!

Dh called and said his dd may be here for the weekend. Fine with me - but advanced warning would be nice. My house is a wreck!

Emily has softball in the morning and has to sing at church on Sunday. Both kids have Easter egg hunts at church at different times. I may skip J.R.'s because his class is going on one on Monday and there is just not enough time for everything on the weekend. He won't know anyways. Poor 2nd child syndrome again. LOL He'll really be just fine.

Took Emily back to the dr. this a.m. to recheck her asthma. Had to take J.R. too as I was running late. I was nuts by the time I got there with them bickering in the car. When the dr. came in he said "How are WE today?" I said they were fine but I was nuts. I told him I was going to work to regain my sanity. He laughed at me - he has 6 kids . Probably thinks I'm at whimp! But this whimp is helping him to pay for that nice Lexus SUV I see him driving - I've always wanted one of those, too!

When I checked out at the dr. office, this man was showing off his new baby - #9! 7 boys and 2 girls. I almost felt guilty for being nuts but then I thought that God gave his wife more sanity then me b/c he knew she would have so many kids. God laughs at my expense - I'm sure of it!

I hate Mondays!

Back at work after my 3 day weekend. I got a lot of things ready for the tot trade. I have over 100 items - clothes, books, videos and some framed prints. I hope I make some decent money off of this or I won't do the one in the fall.

Emily had ball on Saturday and J.R. had to go to a bday party at the skating rink. He didn't really care for skating. He is so not his sister! LOL She took to skating, riding a bike, tying her shoes all on the 1st try. He is just not there. But that's ok - that is just him.

Tim left for Greenville around 3:30. Then it's started raining and kept me awake. I think I fell asleep right before the alarm went off. I really wanted to stay in bed!

Emily has ball again tonight. Mom and Dad will be getting her there. I may just get J.R. and go straight home since I'll only get to see about 20 minutes of it.

Softball

Emily had her 1st softball practice last night. It was so cold! Those girls looked like the "Bad News Bears!" But they'll learn.

Emily only got 1 hit (3 if you count fouls). She pitched a couple balls. She could make a good pitcher - that is what I played. I'll have to work with her. But she is one of the youngest, so I told her that probably one of the older girls would pitch this year. But who knows.

Practice again tonight at 6. I have to take J.R. with me. So it will NOT be fun! Practice Sat. at 10:15, Mon and Tues. at 6. Opening ceremonies next Sat. J.R. has a bday party to go to at 10 this Sat. So Tim will be doing softball.

I asked for this! And next year J.R. will be in tball! Fun for me! LOL

At least I am off tomorrow. There is a tottrade here next week so I going to try and get some stuff together to take over there - maybe.

Just another Wednesday

I'm at work - which will be the most relaxing part of my day. Emily and J.R. have choir practice tonight. Since Mom and Dad are out of town, Tim will meet me at the church with them. Then right after that Emily has softball practice. I'm hoping Tim will take her to that and I can go home with J.R. But I probably should go, because it's the 1st one and he won't pay attention to things I need to know about. Maybe I'll just send him home with J.R.

Tim got nowhere with Chasity - or, in my opinion he didn't. He is such a wimp when it comes to her. He says what he thinks she wants to hear and that is just bull shit! I really think she needs to go to a tech school and get a 2 year degree. Then she can pursue other things from there. He says she wants to go into the ministry. Well, that's is all well and good but you gotta go to college to do that, too. I give up.

I told him that when child support stops - that is it. If she isn't doing anything to help herself than she can go to her mother for money! She is going to wind up like Tim's sister living in a trailer with 6 kids (1 hers, 2his, 3 theirs) and having her (and Tim's) mom help foot the bills. Living on welfare - and being proud of it. In fact, when her dh got slapped w/ child support and they both decided to quit their jobs she said it was time the government took care of them. Well, hell, all of her babies were on WIC and medicaid so I'm not sure what she thinks the gov. has been doing all these years! And then the crazy woman goes and votes Republican! I just don't get it!

I need to calm down. Dh's family makes me so angry! Thank God they are 8 hours away - which is not far enough sometimes! I really should have listened to my parents! LOL

I preached to Emily and J.R. about college last night and told them they were both going and that was that! Emily gets it - J.R. is 3, he thinks I'm nuts! (Maybe I am!)

Tuesday Morning

We had some big storms come through last night. I can't believe the kids and the dog slept threw them. I, on the other hand, was watching the weather cannel at 2 a.m. Rain has stopped but it is very windy. I hate this weather. It was 74 yesterday and only suppose to be in the low 50s today. Bring on summer!!

Emily's softball coach called last night. First regular practice is Wednesday at 7. Which means we have to haul butt from church (kids in the choir) which ends at 6:30. Tim will be home, so he will be handling picking her up from school, getting homework, feeding and then meeting me at the church with them. I'm tired from just typing all of that! Just wait 'till next year when J.R. starts t-ball!

I mentioned I had a chicken potpie in the crock, yesterday. Actually, it was Betty Crocker's Chicken and Dumplings. I didn't care for it. It was too salty! Emily, though, loved it and ate it all gone. I'm really having issues with her weight. I was never overweight until I got married. I married a man who likes to eat. And his mamma cooked 3 meals a day. Emily is taking after Tim's side and it is worrying me. She is tall ( about 4' 10") but she weighs 90 pounds. She'll be 9 next month. I've tried to cut back on sweets - but like her dad, she likes to eat! Not sure how to handle this. She is getting a belly on her. I need to get her more active - not so much to cut back her food. Softball will help some, but it is stop and go. Maybe it's a phase and she slim down as she gets taller. My stepdaughter did that. She was a little over weight until 14 or 15.

I worry too much, I guess.

Oh well. I should go do some work - since that it what I get paid for!

A J.R. funny

We listen to country music in our house. J.R. only gets a few of the words right but when he puts them together it is a hoot! Now he likes "Redneck Woman" only he says:

I'm a NEKKID woman
Aint no highprice BRA
And I know my Christmas lights are on!

I wonder if they'll let him sing that in choir practice tomorrow night! :-) They are singing some song but the only words he knows are:

(while patting his heart)

I've got a beep beep beep
And I know that my Jesus in me.

(over and over and over again!)

He also like "Nothing on But the Radio" and "Mr. Mom" which he calls "Nothing But the Radio" and "Baby's Hair."

Oh my funny boy!

Getting Start

What the heck - everyone else has one!

So, I am starting a blog. My name is Stefanie. I have been married to Tim for almost 11 years. We have 2 children - Emily (8) and J.R. (3). I also have a stepdaughter, Chasity, who is 17. I am an auditor for the state of South Carolina. I've had this job for 11 years.

Bored to death

I'm sitting at work, bored out of my mind. I really should be thankful that it is slow right now. Things will really pick back up in the next week or so and then I won't catch a break for a while. But I hate being bored - makes the day go by too slow!!

Dh is out-of-town, again! His dd (Chasity) is with him. She came to visit for a few days. Her mom is an over-the-road truck driver. Started that about 1 1/2 yrs ago. I told dh to take Chasity to Bob Jones Univ while he was up there. She and her mom became very religious about 7 yrs ago and she started homeschooling 4 yrs ago. She doesn't seem to have any interest in much else - except the Bible. I am fine with that , but she needs to live in the real world because she'll be having real bills to pay before too long. She should be a senior but she and her mom where in a wreck about 2 yrs ago and she got behind. She considers herself a junior.

Ok, trying not to go to far off on that tangent.

I have a chicken potpie in the crock pot. Did I mention I'm bored!

It's almost lunch time, I better rap up.
